What this website saves.
This is a plain-language description of Scentolina’s current website. It should receive owner and legal review before being treated as a formal privacy policy.
Information you provide
If you create an account, the site saves your name, email address, marketing email choice and a securely hashed version of your password. It also saves the favourite mood and fragrance blend you explicitly choose to keep.
When you start a custom candle or hamper order, the site saves the mood, mixed fragrance, candle style, quantity, gift occasion if you chose one, and any optional recipient or personal note. If you ask us to place a message in the candle, that note is saved with the order. After you pay, we also save the amount paid, payment status and the shipping address Stripe collected.
Local candle drafts
An unfinished custom candle or hamper is kept in session storage in this browser tab for up to 30 minutes. It helps you return after signing in. The draft is not attached to your account until you start checkout.
Sign-in and account access
A secure, HTTP-only session cookie keeps you signed in for up to seven days. Account and request pages use that session to show only the signed-in user’s information.
How the shop is used
Scentolina keeps a first-party record of visits so the studio can see how people move through the site. That record includes a visitor cookie, the pages opened, the time of those visits, the referring site if the browser sends one, the browser type, and the IP address used to reach the site. If you create an account or sign in, later visits from that browser can be linked to the account email.
Passwords, payment card numbers, and the words typed into forms are not saved as activity. This information is reviewed on a private admin page that is not listed for search engines.
Payments
Checkout is handled by Stripe. This website does not ask for or save payment card numbers. Stripe tells Scentolina whether payment succeeded, the amount, a payment reference and the delivery address you entered. See the payment policy for when an order is placed and how refunds work.

To ask what is saved, request a correction or discuss deletion of account information, contact scentolina@gmail.com. Retention and deletion procedures should be formally documented before a wider launch.
